Aesthetics in socio critical spaces

In the „Laborwoche“ of the university of Design Schwäbisch Gmünd, where interdisciplinary approaches to GESTALTUNG are initiated and staged, the Palestinian refugee camp Shatila in Beirut, Lebanon, became the protagonist of an artistic investigation and intervention. By understanding and analyzing space scarcity in a socio-critical context, multiple ideas to improve the quality of life were devised: Knowledge generation apps, children’s furniture, guidance systems and recycling of plastic waste.
